I am always looking for practical ways to visualize stuff and a lot of the time I end up using something one wouldn’t imagine using for that specific purpose.

This one is a great example of such a practical solution. Who would imagine hairs on a star?

The illustration is made in blender and I used hair systems to make the flares. the surface of the star is a combination of a combined emission material and a hair system that mimics the movement of the stars surface. The planet is mostly light by its star a has an emission material as a burning surface.

I am still not pleased with the debris: too similar and too wide in space instead of coming out of the planet.

The illusion of movement I made in Photoshop by smearing an extra layer of the planet and its debris and putting that on top of the original layer.
